If your group is up for an adventure, then Crag Cave is the perfect spot.
Located in the bosom of the Glannaruddery Mountains and nestled near Castleisland, the cave is the longest in Kerry at 3.28km. It is also the 7th largest in Ireland. Crag Cave is one of the finest examples of a limestone cave and gives visitors an amazing view of how these geological wonders are formed. Visitors will see examples of pillars, stalactites, flowstones, curtains and straws which have formed over the last 15,000 years.
When taking a tour of the cave you may notice that the names of passages and chambers are quite familiar. When they were discovered in the 1980s names were used from J.R.R Tolkien’s 'Lord of the Rings'.
Visiting the show cave will be a very exciting experience for you and your group and it's not one to be missed!
