The Museum dates back to 1905 and it’s one of the seven institutions dotted in Wales that together form the Welsh National Museum. If your group  wants to take a step into history, then explore The Evolution of Wales exhibition which takes you through 4,600 million years of geological history. Along your journey through time and space, you’ll come face to face with dinosaurs and woolly mammoths accompanied by meteorites, moon rock and fossils. See mounted skeletons of ancient creatures, including a stunning reconstruction of south Wales 200 million years ago showing impressive dinosaur skeletons and footprints. You’ll also find here the world’s largest turtle, a leatherback which was found on Harlech beach, suspended on wires from the ceiling!

Discover one of Europe’s finest collections in the Art gallery which includes 500  years of magnificent paintings, drawings, sculpture, silver and ceramics from Wales and across the world as well as an impressive collection of Impressionist works.

The Museum is open all year round, Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am – 5pm, so plan ahead and try visit early if you want to explore all the Museum has to offer.
