For those groups with a penchant for the British monarchy, why not visit Her Majesty’s Yacht Britannia?
This decommissioned yacht, originally built in Scotland has now returned to be permanently moored at Leith Harbour in Edinburgh.
Britannia was the last of the 83 Royal British Yachts, the first of which was commissioned in 1660. It was for 44 years an official royal residence, used for honeymoons, official receptions and family holidays. During this time, the ship hosted some of the leading figures of the 20th Century, including Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela and Ronald Reagan.
On board the yacht, your group will have access to the 5 main decks, where you’ll be able to see everything from the Queen’s apartment to the engine room. Almost all the trappings are original, including a pristine Rolls Royce Phantom V state car. And once you’ve finished, you can have a snack at the Royal Deck Tea Room while enjoying the beautiful views over the Firth of Forth.
Tickets are about £12 for adults, including a complimentary audio tour. For bookings of more than 15 people make sure to get in touch with the groups team at the Royal Yacht Britannia to secure the best group rates!
