The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the largest arts festival in the world.
Whether it’s theatre, comedy, dance or music, your group will find plenty that they’ll be sure to love. With more than 2,500 shows over the month, nowhere else will you find such abundance in the performing arts.
The festival has remained, since its founding, an unjuried festival. This means that there is no committee to decide what is allowed in, so anyone can join the fun. Because of this this, Edinburgh Fringe teems with a mix of the established and the outright bizarre. Acts range from world-famous comedians to obscene puppetry to ballet featuring inflated shopping bags.
It has become a runaway success over the last 50 years, with other fringe festivals being set up around the world. Edinburgh, however, is still easily the biggest and best.
Many famous figures have made their name at the fringe over the years, including Tom Stoppard and the Monty Python group. See if your group can spot the next big stand up!
The Edinburgh Fringe Festival takes place every year during the month of August. Tickets can be booked at the venues or online at http://www.edinburghfestivals.co.uk/tickets.
