Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament are among the most iconic landmarks in London.
No visit in London is complete without listening to Big Ben's chime! Big Ben is the bell inside the clock tower at Westminster Palace. The tower itself is called the Elizabeth Tower in honour of Queen Elizabeth II’s diamond jubilee in 2012. After its completion in 1859, the big bell chimed for the very first time on the 11th July and continued to do so even through the bombings in the Second World War. Unfortunately, only UK residents can take a tour of Big Ben today.
However, you can take a group tour in the Houses of Parliament, consisting of the House of Lords and the House of Commons, and even attend a debate in the public gallery! Just make sure you book in advance, especially if you're looking to treat your group to a guided tour as well.
