GroupLeader.com’s partners will offer the best available rates for each group every time. As the group organiser is dealing directly with the supplier on the GroupLeader.com platform, they can be assured of receiving a competitive quote specific to their exact requirements.
Collect and split payments easily
GroupLeader.com facilitates the simple division of payments, meaning no messy spreadsheets are required to work out who owes what and no more chasing money owed by group members. Group members can pay via bank transfer and also use debit or credit cards to pay off their portion of the group bill.
Collaborate with group members
The GroupLeader.com Dashboard allows members to easily correspond with the group and each other. They can view supplier shortlists; and manage bookings, payments and online documents such as rooming lists, all in one place - removing the difficulty of organising and managing group members, and making group decisions more transparent.
The process is simple:
- A group organiser planning a football team trip would set up a profile on GroupLeader.com and send a request to all shortlisted suppliers meeting their requirement (e.g. a selection of hotels).
- The hotels then quickly send back proposals
- The group organiser invites group-members to compare the quotes.
- The group chooses a hotel and each member pays their share into GroupLeader.com which subsequently pays the hotel.
GroupLeader.com has already signed up lots of hotel brands in the UK & Ireland so that groups can access quotes from a substantial collection of partners at each destination. Brands such as Holiday Inn, Ramada, Doyle Collection, Bewley's and Jurys Inn are already on board together with independent hotels such as The Hoxton Hotel, The Washington Mayfair, Carton House and The Brook Lodge, to name a few.
GroupLeader.com also makes group travel really easy for its partners. There is no cost to sign-up and no contract, GroupLeader.com only charges 5% commission on confirmed bookings and provides a new channel to receive qualified group travel requests. No rates need to be published in advance or allocations required - partners bid only on the requests received, so only the customer will see the rates quoted.
Hotel partners are currently able to register at GroupLeader.com with the consumer site launching in November 2013. The site will be multi-currency and multi-lingual and will be promoted globally. Further roll-out will include partners such as ground transport providers and tour guides by the end of 2013. New destination territories including mainland Europe and the USA will go live in 2014.

‘I’ve been working in the group travel industry for 20 years and am amazed that it’s still so complex, with so much human intervention required. If a person wants to book a hotel online in London for 3 nights for 30 people, they would usually start searching for the type of hotels they are looking for, in an area they may not be familiar with. This is a slow and laborious task. Once a shortlist has been settled on, the organiser must email each hotel individually for a group rate. The hotels then reply by email with PDF or Word document proposals, quoting different board-bases, so that the organiser must create a massive spreadsheet in order to compare one quote against another. This process is archaic and not too dissimilar to getting a phone book out and ringing a list of hotels! Another route the organiser might take is to use an Online Travel Agent like booking.com or Expedia, however, many of these sites limit bookings to a maximum of 9 rooms and do not give group rates. They offer the same price per room irrespective of the number of rooms requested – essentially, you can’t negotiate a group rate through these systems as their prices are pre-determined and pre-loaded. The group will also be indirectly paying for commissions as high as 25%, making room prices expensive and, to top it off, a significant payment is generally required up front. Our platform streamlines the group booking process, making it easier for all.
